Brought up in the Scottish Borders, Jennie McCall uses stoneware clay and porcelain, often mixing the two to give the clay extra strength but with translucency in parts. Multi layers of oxides are applied to the ceramic sculptures that might be fired many times to achieve the desired effect.
Some of Jennie McCall’s smaller pieces are modelled in wax and cast in bronze. The bronze pieces comprise a small body of work that compliments the larger sculptures.
Jennie McCall exhibits across the UK and has work in several private collections.
