I walk through the woods, every day for hours with my little dog.... and as I follow the serene, green winding path, I always excitingly anticipate, with awe, for when the clearing opens out into a magical lake. My painting is inspired by this exquisite still body of water, that I see everyday. I try to capture an essence of the ethereal, luminous, fleeting light changes from first light to last light - Louise Fairchild
The painting was shortlisted for the prestigious Royal Academy Summer Exhibition London 2024, but was not hung. The RA status shows on the back of the painting, for providence.
