Luci Maclaren
Luci Maclaren’s work has always been dominated by colour and movement. “I want to capture a moment in time, a feeling, the essence of someone or something. I want the effect to be striking, powerful and dynamic; both alive with movement and given space to breathe."
Luci Maclaren was born in Perth in Scotland. After studying History of Art at St Andrews University, she spent much of her time travelling, until 2004 when she trained in Fine Art at Santa Monica College, Los Angeles. Shortly after which she had her first solo exhibition at the Karen Lynne Gallery, Beverly Hills.
Horse Racing and Polo – Luci has exhibited both racing and polo paintings at Bonhams, various galleries around the UK and many of her paintings can be found in private collections in Europe, Asia, North America, Australia and New Zealand.
Abstract and Sport - In 2012, Luci moved to Barcelona where she exhibited her first solo exhibition in Spain at the Geston Ideas Gallery. It was here that she first ventured into the world of abstract. Luci’s follow up 'Stepping' exhibition in the A and D gallery, London, shows a further natural progression to the world of abstract through a continued exploration of light, atmosphere and movement. This exploration was a definite stepping stone to her new sporting series painted on raw linen.
