Andrew Farmer ROI earned a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art Painting from Canterbury Christ Church University (2005-2008) and completed a postgraduate program, ‘The Drawing Year,’ at the Royal Drawing School in London (2008-2009).
Specializing in oil painting, Andrew Farmer explores diverse subjects such as intimate family moments, rural and urban landscapes, and portraiture. His work is deeply rooted in observation, with a passion for understanding and interpreting the world through his art. "I thrive on the act of looking, analyzing, and trying to grasp the essence of my surroundings," he explains.
Since his first exhibition with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in 2014, Andrew has received multiple awards, including 1st and 2nd place Winsor and Newton Awards and the Menena Joy Schabe Memorial Award in 2019.
A member of the Brit Plein Air group and The Northern Boys painting group, Andrew continues to focus on painting the beauty of the everyday. "I love to paint the ordinary, encouraging viewers to appreciate the often-overlooked beauty in daily life," he says.
Andrew Farmer became a full member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in 2019.
